Privacy policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
This policy explains what the CrossLine Android app ("CrossLine", "the app") by web2u does with information. In short: we don't collect your data. Your charts and progress never leave your phone. CrossLine has no account, no cloud, no analytics, no ads and no AI. The only time it talks to the internet is Google Play confirming your purchase (explained below).
What stays on your device
- The PDF charts you import (copied into the app's private storage), the projects created from them, your stitching progress and settings.
- Your trial start date and purchase status.
We have no servers that receive this information, and the app has no account or sign-in.
What the app does not do
- No analytics, crash reporting or advertising SDKs.
- No AI: your charts are read on your phone by plain code and are never sent to an AI or machine-learning service.
- No tracking, no advertising ID, no location, contacts, camera or microphone access.
- No selling or sharing of personal data.
Services from Google
- Google Play Billing: the one-time unlock is bought through Google Play. Google processes the payment under Google's privacy policy. The app receives only the purchase confirmation, which it checks on the device.
- Android backup: if you use Android's backup, only the trial and purchase status file is included, so a reinstall doesn't restart or lose your unlock. Your charts and progress are not backed up.
Permissions
- Files: you choose PDFs (and Pattern Keeper progress files) with Android's file picker; the app reads only the files you pick. On Android 9 and below, the app uses storage access only to save a project's PDF to Downloads when you use Download PDF.
- Internet: used only by Google Play Billing, as above. The app makes no other network connections; its fonts are built in.
